How’d we get here?
We met in the winter of 2019 at a local co-working space—Nikki is a graphic designer and had been diving into social media management on the side while Jenn was a family/wedding photographer dabbling in branding photography. We mostly chatted about the struggle of being a work-from-home mama and not finding much of a creative business community in our little town of Longmont. One day we were exchanging struggles and a major lightbulb went off for both of us…it went something like this:
Nikki: “Gah! I’m so sick of trying to come up with fresh images for this account- I have nothing good to post except this boring stock photography.”
Jenn: “That’s funny- whenever I’ve done branding sessions before, I never really see the images on social media…you’d think if a business had content they’d use it more.”
And then our aha moment came pretty much immediately…
Jenn: “We should start a business where we offer branding photography and social media management to each client!?!”
Nikki: “Did we just become best friends!?!” (That part might not have happened but we like a good movie quote reference whenever possible.)
It seemed so obvious we honestly couldn’t believe someone wasn’t doing this around here already. It wasn’t long until we had a rad name, a pretty good idea of who we wanted to work with, and just started running with it.
FIVE years later and we are working with incredible clients, creating amazing content alongside our team and finding ways to help fellow business owners market themselves in an ever changing social media landscape.

(Your Branded Beet Girls)
This photo is of us in the summer of 2020… Back then, we were working on building Branded Beet during a global pandemic and squeezing any work we could get into the margins of life- Nap times, after school, nights and weekends. Jenn’s husband helped us snap this photo for the first iteration of our website. Even though we have plenty of recent pics, this is too good not to keep and serves as a reminder of just how far we’ve come. Our kids are a little older now, we have normal working hours (mostly), we sit at a real desk in an office we pay rent at, surrounded by a team of wildly talented creatives. It’s taken 5 years and a LOT of work to get here, but in many ways, we both feel like we’re just getting started. Cheers to the next 5 years! XOXO, Jenn + Nikki
